Effie Emmaline Bargerstock Gilmore

Effie Emmaline Bargerstock Gilmore, 82, of Onset, formerly of South Deerfield,
died July 31, 2010 in Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. 

She was born in Craigsville, on Jauary 29, 1928, a daughter of the late Mark
Monroe and Margaret Lula (Kennedy) Bargerstock.
 
She was the wife of Philip S. Gilmore, Jr. They were married in 1953, and lived
in South Deerfield for 35 years before moving to Onset in 1988. 

She graduated from Worthington-West Franklin High School in 1946 and the Central
Radio and Television School in Kansas City.

Mrs. Gilmore worked as an administrative assistant to the principal of the
Deerfield Elementary School for many years before retiring. Previously she
worked as a communication supervisor for Pan Am in New York City.

While living in South Deerfield she was a communicant of St. James Church and
sang in its choir. She was also a member of the South Deerfield Women's Club.

She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Onset and a volunteer at the
Wareham Free Library. She enjoyed reading, traveling, flowers, visiting her
friends and exercising at the Bourne Senior Center. She loved her family and
spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Philip S. Gilmore, Jr.; 4 sons,
Philip S. Gilmore, III and his wife Veronica and Mark Gilmore and his wife
Vonnie all of South Deerfield, Blake Gilmore and Shawn Gilmore both of Wareham;
a sister, Yvonne Swartzlander and her husband Harry of Hammondsville, OH; 5
grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. She was the
sister of the late Dorothy Seifert.

Her funeral will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2010 from the
Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., (Rte. 28), Wareham
followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church,
Onset. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Visiting hours are from
4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Fund, NE
Chapter, 60 Walnut St., Wellesley Hills, MA 02481.

Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Winchester, Ma.
