Merle nmn Toy JR

Merle Toy, Jr., 94, of Kittanning, formerly of Worthington, Pa., passed away on
Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at ACMH Hospital.

He was born on July 17, 1927, in Worthington, Pa., the son Merle and Minnie C.
(Toy) Toy, Sr.

He attended Worthington-Wet Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

Merle was a lifelong resident of the Armstrong County area, and a member of the
Center Hill Covenant Brethren Church. 

He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. 

He founded Merle Toy, Jr. Excavating in 1953, which is now Toy Pipeline. 

Merle was a member of the Kittanning Elks Lodge No. 203 and Worthington American
Legion Post No. 828. 
He loved golfing at Cabin Greens, spending his winters in Florida, with his
wife, Willa, and spending time in the summer at Treasure Lake. 

Merle will be lovingly remembered for enjoying life, loving the time spent with
his family; and his contagious laugh.

His memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Willa S. (Shaffer) Toy, whom he
married on Dec. 14, 1956, in Winchester, Va.; his sons, Lee A. Toy (Teresa) and
Lynn A. Toy and wife, Darla, all of Worthington; his daughters, Lisa A. Toy
Boltz (Scott), of Butler and Lana M. Toy Crownover (fiancé, Eric), of Rural
Valley; grandchildren: Heather Wright (Roy), Erica Boltz (Mike), Christopher
Boltz, Brittany Lynch (Josh), Breanna Haley (Todd), Jillian Jack, Lance Toy and
Evan Toy; great-grandchildren:
Chloey, Autumn, Dalson, Caden, Braden, Raegan, Channing, Kaylee, Claire, Harper,
Owen, Jonathan, Scarlett and Landon; great-great-grandchildren, Oaklee and
Tommy; and a sister, Illene Thompson, of Butler.

Merle was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Erma Heilman and
Delores Bowser; an infant brother; and grandson, Justin Toy.

Services will be private.

Interment will be in Center Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery with military
honors.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in
Merle’s memory to one’s favorite church or charity.

Arrangements are being handled by Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Inc., Kittanning, Pa.
