Betty Lou Hogg Claypool Hammond

Betty Lou (Hogg) Claypool Hammond, 81, of Mechanicsburg, Pa. passed away Sunday,
August 12, 2007, at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence, Harrisburg,
Pa.

Born January 15, 1926, in Worthington, Pa., she was a daughter of the late
Hamilton S. and Bertha O. (Bundy) Hogg.

Betty was a graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Class of 1945,
and was a member of the Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church.

She was an associate member of the 351st Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force. Betty
was an avid golfer who had the privilege of playing the old course at St.
Andrews in Scotland. She was a member of the Range End Country Club, the
Riverview Golf Club and its Ladies League. Her claim to fame was eagling the
number 2 hole at Range End Golf Course. In addition to her love of golf, Betty
enjoyed quilting and traveling.

Surviving are her husband, retired Air Force Maj. Clinton W. Hammond; a
daughter, Robin G. Griffith, of Dillsburg, Pa.; stepson, Clinton P. "Skip"
Hammond (retired state trooper), of Harrisburg, Pa.; two brothers, Donald
Hamilton Hogg, of Worthington, and Frank R. Hogg, of Ford City; a sister, Emma
Irene Gates, of Batavia, N.Y.; son-in-law, Douglas S. Keefer, of Willow Street,
Pa.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and
nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Raymond Claypool; a
daughter, Carol Ann Keefer; brothers, Charles Robert Hogg Sr., Clarence Walter
Hogg and James Meredith Hogg; and by her sister, Jean Marie Giff. 
Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Malpezzi Funeral Home,
Mechanicsburg, Pa. where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday,
Aug. 17, 2007.

Interment in Mechanicsburg Cemetery, Mechannicsburg, Pa.
