Mary Irene Borovatz Lewis
Mary Irene Borovatz Lewis, 87, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at
Green Ridge Village in Newville, Pennsylvania.
She was born on Saturday, December 13, 1926 in Toronto, Ohio, a daughter of the
late Michael F. and Anna C. (Pavlinac) Borovatz. The family later moved to
Pennsylvania.
Mary graduated from Worthington West Franklin High School in the class of 1945
as Salutatorian.
After her marriage to William Byron "Barney" Lewis in 1946 and the birth of
three children, she was a homemaker.
After her children were grown, she was employed at Fort Benjamin Harrison in
Indianapolis, Indiana for many years, ensuring that retired military personnel
were paid correctly.
Surviving are her three children and their spouses: David W. and Annette Lewis
of Indianapolis, Indiana, Gerald E. and Linda M Lewis of Shippensburg,
Pennsylvania, and Susan M. and Kevin Molitor of Greenwood, Indiana. Also
surviving are eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and one sister
Catherine Elizabeth Keller of Dillsburg, Pa.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers John F.,
Peter Joseph, Albert William, and infant Michael; and by two sisters, Anna Rose
Gang and
Margaret Frances Borovatz.
Memorial service was held Saturday, December 13, 2014 (Mary's 88th birthday) at
Our Lady of the Visitation Church, Shippensburg, Pennsylvania.
Interment at St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Fenelton, Pa. |
