Richard King Steele

Richard King Steele, 65, of 754 W. Old 422 Road, (East Kittanning Township),
Kittanning, Pa., passed away Monday, February 4, 1991, at Mount Carmel West
Hospital, Columbus, Ohio, while visiting a daughter, Mary.
 
He was born January 4, 1926, in West-Franklin Township, Worthington, Pa., the
son of Carroll and Martha B. (Snyder) Steele.
 
He attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa
 
He retired in 1980 from Armco Advanced Materials Co., Butler, where he had
worked in the railroad yard office. Mr. Steele was a member of First Baptist
Church of Butler and the Berean Sunday School class, Butler.
 
He was an U.S. Sir Force veteran having served in World War II and Korea. He was
also a chaplain of Chapter 12 of the Good Sam Club and a member of the Woodman
of the World.
 
Surviving are his wife, Mabel S. (Gray) Steele; two sons, Richard Kay Steele of
Roy, Utah, and the Rev. Karl G. Steele of Orviston, Pa.; two daughters, Margaret
E. Steele at home and Mary B. (Mark E.) Kuhn of Columbus, Ohio; four brothers,
Leslie C. Steele of (Slate Lick), Kittanning, Pa., Norman Keith Steele of RD 2,
Edinboro, Pa., William Robert Steele of Red Oak, Okla., and Samuel R. Steele of
Napervillle, Ill; nine grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by one brother, James Lee Steele; two sisters, Eleanor
Steele and Margaret B. Lewis.
 
Friends of Richard King Steele of 754 W. Old 422 Road, Kittanning, Pa., who died
Monday, Feb. 4, 1991, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Wednesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 North St., Butler, Pa.
Funeral services will be held from the funeral home at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb.
7, 1991, with the Rev. Karl G. Steele, pastor of the Orviston Bible Church,
Orviston, Pa., and the Rev. Robert L. Sauser, pastor of the First Baptist
Church, Butler, officiating.
 
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Butler, Pa.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the
Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, RD. 3, Slippery Rock, Pa. 16057
