Kenneth Dale Lewis
Kenneth "Dale" Lewis, 88, of Worthington, Pa. died Sunday, July 7, 2013, in
Irving, N.Y.
He was born May 19, 1925, in Craigsville, Pa. a son of the late Warren Henderson
and Leone (Bush) Lewis. He married Alma Grace (Gaiser) Lewis, March 14, 1947.
She passed away March 22, 2009.
He attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.
He was a retiree of West Penn Power Co. and a veteran of the Navy, serving in
the Solomon Island during World War II. He was a lifelong member of Worthington
Presbyterian Church, serving several terms as elder and taught Sunday school
with his wife. He was a former member of Worthington Lions Club and also served
on the board at Washington Civic Center. He enjoyed bowling and playing golf.
Survivors include his two daughters, Donna Kay Lewis, of Gowanda, N.Y., and
Beverly Rhea Kennedy, of Harrisville, Pa.; three grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Rebecca
Lewis McGinty on August 27, 2004; and brother, William Byron "Barney" Lewis on
June 15, 1991.
Friends will be received from 1 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at
the F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME in Worthington and from 10 a.m. until time of
services at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the Worthington Presbyterian
Church with the Rev. Rod Murray officiating.
Interment in Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
