Eleanor Jane Collar McAfoose Davis
Eleanor Jane (Collar) McAfoose-Davis, 87, of Kittanning, Pa., died Monday,
September 30, 2013, in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, (East Franklin
Township) Kittanning.
Born May 15, 1926, in West Franklin Township, Armstrong County, she was a
daughter of the late Walter T. and Sara Jane (Wolf) Collar.
She was a lifetime Armstrong County resident, with 68 years in East Franklin
Township.
She was a 1944 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa.
She was a homemaker, who also worked for several years as a cafeteria worker at
East Franklin and West Hills elementary schools.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, in Kittanning, and was a devoted
Christian and worker in the church. Eleanor was also devoted to serving the
needs of others. She loved to travel.
Survivors include three sons, Robert N. McAfoose and wife, Becky L., of
Kittanning, James R. McAfoose and wife, Patty L., of Kittanning, and Thomas A.
McAfoose and wife, Bonnie L., of Springville, Ind.; a stepson, Keith Davis and
wife, Linda, of Natrona Heights, Pa.; and several grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband,
Raymond Nelson McAfoose, in 1959; her second husband, Bruce A. Davis, in 1997; a
sister, Margaret Elizabeth (Collar) John; and three brothers, Harry E. Collar,
Richard E. Collar and John Arthur Collar.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013,
in SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, Kittanning. Services will be held at 11 a.m.
Friday, October 4, 2013, in First Baptist Church, Kittanning, where there will
be one hour of additional viewing beginning at 10 a.m. The Rev. A. David
Meneely, her church pastor, will be officiating.
Interment in Worthington Lutheran Church Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.
