Eva Irene Bowser Shearer
Eva Irene Bowser Shearer, 90, of Washington, died Monday, April 3, 2017, at 8:05
p.m., in her home.
She was born November 11, 1926, in Worthington, a daughter of the late Erwin and
Chloe (Harman) Bowser.
She was a 1944 graduate of Worthington High School and Wilma Boyd Professional
School.
Mrs. Shearer was senior vice president of Shearer Heating Co., for many years.
Mrs. Shearer was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Glyde.
She enjoyed baking, gardening and was a former member of the ladies auxiliary of
Washington Lions Club.
Mrs. Shearer also volunteered in Washington Hospital with the ladies auxiliary.
Most of all, she loved her role of homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother.
September 1, 1945, she married W. Richard "Dick" Shearer, who survives. Also
surviving are her children, son Jeffrey (Brenda A.) Shearer of Bloomsburg and
daughter Jean (Matthew) Lucas of Washington; brother Rev. Mont (Eileen) Bowser
of Greensburg; five grandchildren, Joseph (Lauren) Shearer, Sean (Connie)
Shearer, Rebecca Weaver, Nicole Weaver and Chloe S. Shearer; four
great-grandchildren, Katie Shearer, Brooke Shearer, Matty Berdine and Connor
Shearer. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Warco-Falvo
Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 7, in Bethlehem Lutheran
Church, Glyde with the Rev. Peter Aspin officiating. Those wishing to attend the
funeral service should go directly to the church Friday.
Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery, Washington, Pa.
