Edwin Findley Peat

Edwin Findley Peat, 60, of RD 1, Worthington, Pa., died Saturday, October 11,
1986 at his residence.

He was born December 14, 1925, in Worthington, a son of Oran and Faye Elsie
(Guthrie) Peat.

He attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

He was retired from Pullman Standard Co in Butler, Pa., and Logan Clay Co.,
Craigsville, Pa.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy having served in World War II. He was a
member of Kittanning Men's Club, Kittanning, Pa., and the Cowansville American
Legion, Cowansville, Pa.

Survivors include two sons, Richard R. Peat of RD 3, Kittanning, and Donald E.
Peat of RD 1, Worthington; three daughters, Mrs. Paul (Linda Lou) Long, Jr.,
Mrs. Frederick (Deborah) Arble, and Mrs. Dennis (Marcia F.) Hooks, all of
Worthington; four brothers, Harland A. Peat and Chalmer D. Peat, both of
Kittanning, and James J. Peat and Thomas L. Peat , both of Worthington; two
sisters, Mrs Robert (Jean M.) Leech of Butler and Mrs. Chauncey Y. (Janet
Marlene) Hooks, Sr. of Worthington; 10 grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Slagle) Peat, in 1981; a son,
Gary Wayne Peat; two brothers, Robert Peat and Richard W. Peat; and three
grandchildren.

Friends of Edwin F Peat, 60, of RD 1, Worthington, Pa., who died Saturday,
October 11, 1986, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 4
p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, Worthington,
where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 13, 1986, with the Rev.
Earl Watterson, Minister of Youngsville Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will take place at Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.
