Kenneth Lavere Swigart

Kenneth Lavere Swigart, 90, passed away September 6, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
 
He was born, January 10, 1923, in Worthington, Pa. to John Gilpein and Olga
Blanche (Bowser) Swigart.

Ken attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.
 
He served three years in WWII in Paton's 3rd Army Unit as a Tank Driver. During
WWII Ken stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-Day and was in the Battle of The
Bulge. He was a Staff Sargent in the Korean War and served in the Army Air Force
for 17 years.
 
Ken enjoyed playing the slot machines.

Ken married Eunice L. Baxter on May 3, 1950.

He is survived by his loving wife, Eunice who he shared 63 years of marriage
with; two daughters, Peggy Lee Lopez and Eunice Diane Acosta, five
grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Homer L. Swigart, Fred
L. Swigart, and J. Frank Swigart; five sisters, Grace H. Ross, Olive P.
Schuller, Della B. Durlin, E. Louise Blaney, and Anna Pauline Swigart who died
at 9 months old. Grandparents, Lewis and Evaline (Snowden) Bowser, J.B. Swigart,
and Alice (Miller) Swigart Decker, and step-grandparents, Polly (Noble) Bowser
and Charles Decker.

His body was cremated and there were no services.
