Guy Harvey Shriver
Guy Harvey Shriver passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Florida
Hospital Flagler.
He was born on June 8, 1924 in St. Petersburg, PA to the late Robert Elliott and
Emma Rebecca Shriver (Taylor).
He was a 1943 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa
On October 1, 1950 Harvey married Ella Paulsen in Waterloo, IA.
He worked for John Deere for 34 years, during which time he was active as a Boy
Scout leader. In 1982, Harvey and Ella retired to Flagler Beach and they
volunteered at the Flagler Beach Historical Museum and he was a member of the
Flagler Beach Lions Club. He loved fishing, gardening and camping. They visited
all 50 states together and were active with the Flagler Ocean Waves square dance
club, traveling with them to the Caribbean, Europe, Russia, Scandinavia, Great
Britain and China.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ella; sons, Eric L. and his wife Belinda
of Sawyer MI; Jeffrey L. and his wife Fran of Burbank, CA; daughter, Rebecca L.
Shriver and her husband Randy Rice of Freeport, IL; five grandchildren and four
step-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and
James.
A memorial service celebrating the life of G. Harvey Shriver, 85, of Flagler
Beach will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 10:00AM at Christ Lutheran
Church, 2323 N. State Street, Bunnell.
