Verda Evylyn McMillen Double

Verda Evelyn "Verdie" McMillen Double, age 91, of Wesleyville, passed away
Monday, March 20, 2017. 

She was born in Craigsville, Pa., on May 27, 1925, daughter of the late Thomas
and Mary J. (Thompson) McMillen.

She a 1942 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

Verdie had resided in Erie since 1945. 

She was a member of St. James R.C. Church and she enjoyed gardening and
traveling.

Verdie is survived by one daughter, Diana Infantino (James) of Millcreek; two
sons, Dennis Double (Brenda) of Ocala, Fla., and David Double (Barbara) of
Millcreek; three sisters, Daisy Ulisky, Anna Clepper and Phyllis Sack; six
beloved grandchildren, Jackie Palotas, Christopher Double, Anthony Double,
Michelle Double, Dean Double, and Stephanie Okleja; and many
great-grandchildren, whom will miss her dearly. Many nieces and nephews also
survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Justin D. Double; one son, Darrell
Double; and one grandson, Justin Double, sisters, Ella Haggerty, Alma Sipes and
Nancy Tantlinger; brothers, Plumber, Floyd, Charles, Daniel, Thomas, and Herman.


Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., Friday
from 4 to 8 p.m., and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Saturday
at 10 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James R.C. Church at 10:30 a.m. 

Interment in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery, Erie, Pa. 

Memorial contributions may be designated to the Dr. Gertrude A. Barber National
Institute, 100 Barber Place, Erie, PA 16507.
