Marie Jean Marks Swigart
Marie Jean (Marks) Swigart, 89, of Worthington, Pa., died Wednesday, February
12, 2014, in Armstrong County Health Center, Kittanning, Pa.
She was born April 1, 1924, in Nicola (West Franklin Township) RR., Worthington,
a daughter of the late John and Jennie (Kobel) Marks.
She attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.
She worked at PPG during World War II and in her later years worked at
Kittanning Country Club and was also a homemaker.
Marie was of Lutheran Faith.
She loved baking, cooking, gardening and the outdoors in general.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda J. (Dennis A.) Lamison of Kittanning; a
son Timothy J. Swigart and Lillie of Worthington; two granddaughters, Heather M.
(David F.) Desuta of Slippery Rock, Pa. and Renee D. (Jonathan M.) Kozuska of
Monroeville, Pa.; four great-grandchildren, Carina, Elena, Carter and Reid; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband, John
Frank Swigart Oct. 13, 1993; and four sisters, Eva Perdos, Helen Irene Crawford,
Elsie May Yockey and Hazel Dorothy Fennell.
Per Marie's wishes, a private viewing and services were held Friday, Feb. 14,
2014 in the F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, Worthington, with the Rev. Dr. Ronald
G. Shafer officiating.
Interment was in Worthington Lutheran Church Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.
