Edgar Ralph Leard

Edgar Ralph Leard, 72, of Penn Hills, Pa., died Tuesday, December 30, 1997.

He was born June 3, 1925, in Worthington, Pa., the son of late Walter S. and
Laura Bell (Hindman) Leard.

He graduated in 1943 from Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa.

Served in the army during WW II. Later he went on to higher learning and
graduated in 1950 from Westminster College, New Wilmington, Pa.

He was a member of Mt. Hope Community Presbyterian Church, Penn Hills, Pa.
 
He was employed for 30 years as a pharmaceutical salesman for A.H. Robins Drug
Company. 

He was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Penn Hills, sang in the church choir,
volunteered at the Penn Hills food bank and loved to meet and get to know new
people.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Nora Jean Leard; one son, Thomas Edgar
(Sheila) Leard of Pittsburgh, Pa.; three daughters, Linda S. (Steven) Zvonkovich
of Virginia, Margaret Fay "Peggy" Leard and Laura Jean (Daniel) Napolitana, both
of Pittsburgh; and five grandchildren. 

Friends of Edgar R. Leard, 72, of Penn Hills, Pa., who died December 30, 1997,
will be received Wednesday, 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at
William F. Gross Funeral Home, LTD, 11735 Frankstown Road (at Rodi Road) Penn
Hills, Pa. Funeral service will be held in Mt. Hope Community Presbyterian
Church, 12106 Frankstown Rd., Penn Hills, Friday, January 2, 1998, at 11 a.m.

Burial in Worthington Presbyterian cemetery (along with his parents,
grandparents and aunts and uncles), Worthington, Pa.
