Alda Geraldine Hawk McAllister
Alda Geraldine Hawk McAllister, 60, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, formerly of
Hialeah, Florida, passed away Friday, January 10, 1986.
She was born March 23, 1925, in Craigville to Raynard Paul and Anna Margaret
(Jones) Hawk.
She graduated in 1943 from Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa.
Alda married Ace B. McAllister on Dec. 23, 1944, while he was serving at the
Army Depot at Indiantown Gap, Pa. She moved to Florida to live with her
husband's parents until he was discharged from the army.
She worked at the Hialeah Hospital for approximately 15 years in admissions up
until her death.
Being a caring wife and mother was the most important thing to her. Her hobbies
included remembering family and friends with a birthday card and she loved to
bake and cook.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Surviving here are her loving children and grandchildren; a daughter, Judith E.
(Bruce) Stubbs Lehman of Utah; one son, Chester L. McAllister of Florida.; and
three grandsons and one granddaughter. Her daughter stated that her mother and
her were best friends as well as mother and daughter.
Also, she is survived by two brothers; P. Glenn Hawk and Daniel L. Hawk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ace B. McAllister in 1976. After her
husband passed away, she sold the house that they had bought in 1949 in Hialeah,
Florida and moved to a modular home park in Pembroke Pines, Florida. The first
two weeks of Dec. 1985, she took a vacation and went to Utah to visit with her
daughter and family. She was back home in Florida and in less than a month, she
passed away.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.
Services for Alda Geraldine McAllister, 60, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, who
passed away January 10, 1986, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lowe-Hanks Palm
Avenue Funeral Home, 4850 Palm Avenue, Hialeah, FL 33012.
