Jean Evelyn Claypoole Bowser

Jean Evelyn Claypoole Bowser, 70, of RD 1, Worthington, Pa. died Tuesday, August
6, 1996, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, Kittanning.

Born January 1, 1926 in West Franklin Township, Armstrong County, she was the
daughter of Wade Stanley Sr. and Vera Gladys (Gaiser) Claypoole.

She was a 1943 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School,
Worthington,Pa.

She was a member of Franklin Union Baptist Church, RD 1, Worthington.  She also
belonged to the Women's Mission Circle of the church.

Surviving are her husband, Carl H. Bowser, whom she married April 14, 1951;
three sons, Larry D. Claypoole of Kittanning and Gregory Carl Bowser and Terry
Lynn Bowser, both of RD 4, Kittanning, Pa.; a brother, Donald Glenn Claypoole of
Bellwood, Pa.; three sisters, Mrs. Richard (Freda Alene) Peechatka of
Henryville, Pa., Mrs. Paul L. (Doris Louise) Wagner of Sharon, Pa. and Mrs.
William C. (Shirley Ruth) Higginson of RD 1 Worthington; 10 grandchildren; and
four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers; Wade Stanley "Junior" Claypoole Jr.,
on July 7, 1945, and an infant brother at birth. Three sisters; Bernice
Elizabeth Williams on April 8, 1982, Dorothy Lee Claypoole on Mar. 3, 1983 and
an infant sister at birth.; one grandson.

Friends of Jean Evelyn Bowser, 70, who died Tuesday, August 6, 1996, will be
received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the
F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, Bear Street, Worthington. Visitation will also be
held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Franklin Union Baptist Church, Worthington,
where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. The Rev. Mark J.McCallion, church
pastor, will officiate. 

Burial will be in the Franklin Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.

Memorial donations may be made to the Women's Missionary Society of Franklin
Union Baptist Church.
