Roger Merle Anthony

Roger Merle Anthony, 7l, of 200 Cleveland St., West Kittanning, Pa., died
Sunday, February 2, 1997, at Sugar Creek Rest, Inc., RD 2, Worthington, Pa.
 
He was born October 31, 1925 to Francis H. and Mildred (Butler) Anthony.
 
He graduated with the class of 1943 from Worthington-West Franklin High School,
Worthington, Pa.
 
Mr. Anthony had been employed by Graff-Kittanning Clay Products, Craigsville,
Pa., and he also had owned and operated the Hilltop Inn, West Kittanning, Pa.,
for 20 years, retiring in 1994.
 
He was a World War II Navy veteran having served aboard the USS Tennessee.
 
He was a member of Ford City Veterans of Foreign Wars, Ford City, Pa. and the
Worthington American Legion, Worthington.
 
Survivors include two sons, John F. Anthony of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Thomas R.
Anthony of Pittsburgh, Pa.; three grandchildren, Jeffrey, Eric and Christopher
Anthony; one brother Theodore George Anthony of Norfolk, Va. and two sisters,
Marcella Virginia Farrington and Patricia Phyllis Barrett, both of Pittsburgh.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Violet Hazel (Stouffer)
Anthony, who died December 14, 1988; one son, Donald Anthony; and one sister,
Shirley Ann Fisher.
 
Friends of Roger Merle Anthony, 71, of 200 Cleveland St., West Kittanning, who
died February 2, 1997, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, 
February 3, at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington,
where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1997, with the
Rev. John Patrick, pastor of the Grace Brethren Church, West Kittanning,
officiating.
 
Interment will take place in Lawn Haven Burial Estates Worthington, Pa.
