William Paul Benton JR
William Paul Benton, Jr., 85, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 7,
2007, at Altoona Regional Hospital, Altoona, Pa.
He was born in Worthington, Pa., March 10, 1922, to William "Paul" and Frances
M. (Welton) Benton.
He attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.
He served his country in both the Army and Air Force.
Before his retirement, Paul was a driver for Thrower Cement in Sarver, Pa.
Paul is survived by his wife, Ruth Irene, a resident of the Hollidaysburg
Veterans Home, Hollidaysburg, Pa.; his son, Larry Paul Benton and wife, Marti;
three grandchildren, Gregory Paul and wife Debbie, Kimberly Benton Rodriguez and
husband Gusty, and Heather and husband Carl, and five great-grandchildren, all
from Battle Creek, MI., area; seven step-children, Harold (Donna) French, Ford
City, Pa., Penny (Paul) Raypush, Sarver, Reba French, Georgia, Robert (Darlene)
French, Georgia, Debra Fraser, Butler, Pa., Richard French and friend, Cheryl,
of the Pittsburgh area, and Cathy Pence, missionary to Panama, their 17
grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Ila Yvonne Benton,
Middletown, Pa.; a brother, Emerson Leroy Benton, Bedford, Va.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral home in
Worthington. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
Pastor Donald Breghenti will officiate.
Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pa.
