George Vincent Peterson

George Vincent Peterson, 70, of 20-D Midland Heights, Midland, Pa., died Sunday,
February 23, 1992, in The Medical Center, Beaver, Pa. following a long illness.

Born February 8, 1922, in Worthington, Pa., a son of the late Paul and Pauline
(Tirpak) Peterson.

He attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a prisoner of war in Germany.

He was a retired supervisor from the cold strip department of the Crucible Steel
Co., Midland. He was a member of the Presentation Roman Catholic Church,
Midland, and SNPJ Lodge 33, Ambridge, Pa.

Surviving are his wife, Wanda (Reed) Peterson; a daughter, Mrs. Gerald E. (Nancy
Leigh) Burgess, Waterford, Mich.; a son, Daniel "Danny" M. Komo, Industry, Pa.;
four grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph J. Peterson, Sr., Midland, Pa., and
Thomas P. Peterson, Ford City, Pa., and two sisters, Mrs. Theodore (Frances)
Bono, New Castle, Pa., and Mrs. Vinko (Mary) Kolar, Girard, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Frank J. Peterson.

Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Schwerha
Funeral Home, Inc., 600 Beaver Ave., Midland. A Mass of Christian burial will be
celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Presentation Catholic Church, Midland,
with the Rev. Donald McIlvane officiating.

Members of the parish will conduct a prayer service Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the
funeral home.

Interment will follow in Mill Creek Cemetery, Georgetown, Pa.
