Charles Herbert Long

Charles Herbert Long, 60, of RD 1, Worthington, Pa., died at 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday, January 25, 1984, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center,
Butler, Pa., after a lengthy illness.

He was born August 9, 1923, in Worthington, a son of Ruth (Bowser) Long and the
late Arthur Fred Long.

He attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

He was a retired employee of Continental Clay of Kittanning, Pa.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army in the European
Theatre of War.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Charles L. Long of
Templeton, Pa., and David A. Long of Mayfield Heights, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs.
Sidney (Barbara Jean) Bowser of Twinsburg, Ohio, and Mrs. Cindy Long Bowser of
Kittanning; three brothers, Paul William Long Sr, Robert J. Long and Donald
Long, all of Worthington; three sisters, Mrs. Dewey (Delores M.) Stewart of
Craigsville, Pa., Mrs. Dene (Betty Jean) Cressler of Freeport, Pa. and Linda K.
Long of Worthington; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenna Audene (Shay) Long on October 6,
1973.

Friends of Charles H. Long, 60, of RD 1, Worthington, Pa., who died Wednesday,
January 25, 1984, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and
7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the James A. Flick Funeral Home, Worthington, where
funeral services will be held Saturday, January 28, 1984 at 11 a.m. Officiating
will be the Rev. C. Richard Main, pastor of Faith Cathedral, RD., Kittanning,
Pa.

Burial will follow in the Presbyterian Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.
