Alice Mae Roofner Dezort
Alice Mae (Roofner) Dezort, 76, of Concordia Haven, Cabot, formerly of
Scottdale, Pa., died Tuesday, May 22, 2001 at Concordia Care Home, Cabot, Pa.
She was born June 21, 1924 in Adrian, Pa., to Frank W. and Mary Ellen (Brown)
Roofner.
She was a 1942 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa.
Mrs. Dezort was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Worthington, Pa.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Charlie W. (Nancy) Suttenfield of Chapel
Hill, North Carolina, and Carol Dezort of Fort Myers, Florida; three brothers,
Robert William Roofner and Carl Frank Roofner, both of Worthington and Edward C.
Roofner of RD, Kittanning, Pa.; and three sisters, Janet Arlene Keener of
Sarver, Pa., Vera Jean White of Cowansville, Pa., and Maude Iola Anker of
Dallas, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James J. Dezort; an
infant daughter, Joan Elizabeth Dezort, and a sister Emma Marie Smith who died
June 2, 1999.
Friends of Alice Mae (Roofner) Dezort, 76, of Concordia Haven, Cabot, formerly
of Scottdale, Pa., who died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, will be received from 7 to 9
p.m. Thursday, May 24, at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 424 Bear St.,
Worthington. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. Friday, May 25,
2001, until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran
Church in Worthington with her pastor, the Rev. Sue Irons, officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, Pa.
Memorial contributions may be made to Concordia Lutheran Ministries, 615 N. Pike
Road, Cabot, Pa. 16023.
