Arthur Clair Benton
Arthur Clair "Pete" Benton, 79, of Worthington RD2 died Sunday, April 7, 2002 at
UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born January 8, 1923 in Worthington to Arthur D. and Margaret Pearl
(McMillen) Benton.
He was a 1942 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa
Mr. Benton was a retired laborer from Eljer Manufacturing, Ford City.
His hobbies were gardening, going to flea markets and yard sales.
Survivors include two sons, Michael F. Benton of California and Jeffrey A.
Benton of Worthington; one daughter, JoAnn Shaffer of New Bethlehem; two
grandsons, Michael S. Benton and James Shaffer; and two granddaughters, Jill
Beatty and Jessica Shaffer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Margaret Clair "Abby"
Beatty; two brothers, Harry Gaiser and Roy "Bill" Benton; and two sisters, Greta
Bonnett and Evelyn Rossiter.
Friends of Arthur C. "Pete" Benton, 79, of Worthington RD2, who died April 7,
2002, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Bauer Funeral
Home, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning, where funeral services will be held at 11
a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Herb Reefer officiating.
Interment will take place in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pa.
