Joseph John Peterson SR

Joseph John Peterson, Sr., 70, of 632 Penn Ave., Midland, Pa. died Wednesday,
June 10, 1992 in his home.

Born February 8, 1922, in Worthington, Pa., a son of the late Paul and Pauline
(Tirpak) Peterson.

He attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

He was retired from the cold strip department of Colt Industries, Midland. He
was a member of Presentation Roman Catholic Church, Midland; SNPJ Lodge 464, and
the Holy Name Society of the church. He was also a veteran of World War II,
serving with the U.S. Army.

Surviving are his wife Barbara (Haralovich) Peterson; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas
(Rita) Komara, North Springfield, Va. and Mrs. Donald (Cathy) White, Annandale,
Va.; one son, Joseph J. Peterson, Jr., also of Annandale; nine grandchildren;
one brother, Thomas P. Peterson, Ford City, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Theodore
(Frances) Bono, New Castle and Mrs. Vinko (Mary) Kolar, Girard, Ohio, and
numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, John Peterson, Frank J. Peterson, and
George V. Peterson.

Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in Schwerha Funeral
Home Inc., 600 Beaver Ave., Midland.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in
Presentation Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis J. Bradley, his pastor will
officiate.

A vigil prayer service will be conducted by the parish on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in
the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Mill Creek Cemetery, Georgetown, Pa.
