Harold Walker Nulph 
 
Twenty-two year old, Private First Class, Harold Walker Nulph of the United
States Marine Corp, lost his life during World War II when the U. S. Cruiser
Princeton was sunk in the Pacific on October 24, 1944. 

A son of Abraham and Edna F. (Jones) Nulph of RD, Worthington, Pa.  Pfc. Nulph
was born at Craigsville, Pa. on June 7, 1922. 

He graduated with the class of 1941 from Worthington-West Franklin High School,
Worthington, Pa.

He entered military service in October, 1942, and received his training at Paris
Island, S. C., Norfolk, Va., and Philadelphia, Pa.

Prior to entering military service Pfc. Nulph was employed by the Babcock Wilcox
Steel Company at Barberton, Ohio.
 
Mr. and Mrs. Nulph were notified in November that their son was missing. In
December they were told in a War Department telegram of his death. He was
awarded the Presidential Citation for bravery, and the Purple Heart, both of
which have been received by his parents.
 
In addition to his parents, Pfc. Nulph is survived by five brothers; Norman W.
Nulph, Kenneth D. Nulph and Harry R. Nulph all at home; Pfc. Robert L. Nulph, a
U. S. soldier who has been in Italy for the past two years, and Seaman First
Class Donald E. Nulph, somewhere in the Pacific war zone.

Interment in Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Manilla, Philippines.
