Merlin Arthur Blackburn

Merlin Arthur Blackburn, 73, of RD 1, Worthington, Pa, died Friday, January 5,
1996 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital (East Franklin Township), Kittanning,
Pa.

He was born February 13, 1922 in Freeport, Pa. to Walter Roy and May A. (Hogg)
Blackburn.

He was a 1941 graduated of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa.

Mr. Blackburn was the owner of the Buffalo Valley Dairy.

He was a member of the Slate Lick United Presbyterian Church, Slate Lick, Pa.

He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge, Freeport.

He was the co-founder of the Armstrong County Populist Party.

Survivors include his wife, Eva Pearl (Wheaton) Blackburn, whom he married on
May 24, 1947; one son, Daniel J. Blackburn of RD 1, Worthington; and one
granddaughter, Valerie Blackburn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Bonnie L. Gerheim.

There will be no public visitation for Merlin Arthur Blackburn, 73, of RD 1,
Worthington, who died January 5, 1996.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, January 6,
1996, at the Slate Lick Cemetery, RD 2, Worthington with the Rev. Dana Opp of
the Grace Presbyterian Church, Kittanning, officiating.

Interment in Slate Lick Cemetery, Kittanning, Pa.
