Albert William Borovatz

Albert William Borovatz, 77, of 394 Union Ave.,  Kittanning, Pa., died
Wednesday, April 12, 2000 at his residence.

He was born September 8, 1922 in Steubenville, Ohio to Michael F. and Anna C
(Pavlinac) Borovatz.

He graduated with the (Class of 1941), as a Honor Student from Worthington-West
Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

Mr. Borovatz was a postal clerk, retiring from the Kittanning Post Office after
23 years of service.

Mr Borovatz was a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Kittanning,
where he volunteered for many church activities.

A U.S. Army veteran during World War II he served as a sergeant. He was the
recipient of the Victory Medal, the Purple Heart, and the Good Conduct Medal,
the American Campaign Medal and three Bronze Stars while serving in the European
African Middle East Campaign.

His memberships included the Ford City Veterans of Foreign Wars, Ford City, Pa.,
Cowansville American Legion, Cowansville, Pa., and board member of the Armstrong
County Federal Credit Union.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia (Colo) Borovatz, whom he married September
22, 1962; one brother, John F. Borovatz of Worthington; four sisters, Anna C.
Gang of Canton, Ohio, Mary Irene Lewis of Indianapolis, Ind., Margaret Frances
Borovatz of Worthington and Mrs. Donald (Catherine Elizabeth) Keller of
Dillsburg, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, who died in 1969; his mother, who died
in 1987; and one brother, Peter Joseph Borovatz, who died in 1987.

Friends of  Albert William Borovatz, 77, of 394 Union Ave., Kittanning, Pa., who
died April 12, 2000, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April
14, 2000, at the Bauer Funeral Home, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning. A funeral
Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church,
Kittanning, with his pastor, the Rev. John A. Moineau, officiating.

The Armstrong County American Legion Honor Guard will perform a military funeral
service at the cemetery Saturday, April 15, 2000.
