Ward Perry Karns
Ward Perry Karns, 88, of Roanoke, Va., and formerly of Kittanning, Pa., went to
be with the Lord on Thursday, December 9, 2010.
He was born April 1, 1922, in McGrann, Pa., son of Mary E. (Daugherty) Karns.
(Karns family not found in the 1920 census. Mary was widowed with 4 sons in the
1930 census. Levi Goldinger was with the family in the 1940 census.)
He attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.
He was a member of the Dover Masonic Lodge #489.
Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Karns; son, Larry (Peggy) Karns;
grandchildren, Scott (Kim) Karns, Joel (Tiffany) Karns, Ward L. Karns Jr., and
Jeremy (Jessica) Karns; great-grandchildren, Parker Karns, Caroline Karns, Will
Karns, Noah Karns, and Alex Karns; and sisters-in-law, Doris (Bill) Roofner,
Roxanne Dowling; and daughter-in-law, Linda
Karns.
He is preceded in death by a son, Ward L. Karns; his mother; three brothers,
Paul A. Karns who died January 14, 1997, Louis L. Karns, who died January 25,
1994 and Ralph H. Karns.
