Jean Marie Hogg Giff
Jean Marie (Hogg) Giff, 78, of RD 1, Worthington, Pa., died Thursday, January
14, 1999 at her residence.
She was born August 11, 1920 in North Buffalo Township (Kittanning, Pa.) to
Hamilton S. and Orlinda Bertha (Bundy) Hogg.
Mrs. Giff was a homemaker and a member of Shadyside Baptist Church (Buffalo
Valley), Worthington, Pa.
She is survived by her husband, George Giff, whom she married on November 2,
1942; three daughters, Mrs. Richard Gene (Phyllis Jean) Arno, Sr. of Sarasota,
Fla., Mrs. John R.(Audrey Eiline) Nemit of Apollo, Pa. and Mrs. Harold (Mary
Beth) Schrecengost of Indiana, Pa.; eight grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Hamilton Hogg and Frank R. Hogg, both
of Kittanning; and two sisters, Emma Irene Gates of Batavia, N.Y. and Betty Lou
Hammond of Mechanicsburg, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, James Arthur Giff on May 6,
1969; and three brothers, James Meredith Hogg, Charles Robert Hogg, Sr. and
Clarence Walter Hogg.
Friends of Jean Marie Hogg Giff, 78, of RD 1, Worthington, who died January 14,
1999, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 1999, at
the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington. Funeral services
will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with her pastor, the Rev. James Turner,
officiating.
Interment will take place in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pa.
