Russell Louis Gairin

Russell Louis Gairin of Mesa, Maricopa County, Arizona, passed away April 19,
1992.

He was born September 21, 1921, the son of Mabel Edith Hartzell and Angelo
Vigorito. He was raised by his mother Mabel and step father Anthony Gairin ,
whom he loved as his real father.

He was a 1940 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School. Worthington,
Pa.

He married Shirley LaVonne Bundy in 1940 in Hancock, WV

He served in the U.S. Navy from July 1943 to Feb 1946.

Russell was a new car dealer in PA and successfully owned and operated several
used car dealerships in Mesa and Chandler AZ. He was the founder and originating
president of the Arizona Used Car Dealers Association. 

He was a member of the Mesa Elks and Moose Lodges. Russell also was an active
member of the Shriners and a 32nd degree Mason. 

He and his wife Shirley renewed their wedding vows on their 50th  wedding
anniversary at Mesa Lutheran, their home church. He was an animal lover bringing
home strays... dogs cats donkeys horses monkeys.... Everyone said if
reincarnation exists they wanted to return as one of his dogs.  Russell loved
life and his family above all.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley, and  three daughters, Antoinette Hernandez,
Marty Lyn Osman and Sammie Gairin and three sisters, Gabriella, Elena, and
Maryann.

The combined ashes of Russell and his wife, Shirley were scattered in Maui and
Molokai, Hawaii on the Ritz Carlton golf course, as both were avid golfers, and
in the ocean waves and beach on Molokai.
