Mary Elizabeth Edwards Lewis Lewis
Mary Elizabeth "Libby" (Edwards) Lewis Lewis, 85, of Worthington, died Sunday,
February 8, 2009.
She was born September 22, 1923, in West Franklin Township, a daughter of the
late William and Margaret Hazel (Shearer) Edwards and lived in Worthington for
the last 12 years.
She was a 1940 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church in
Coylesville.
She was a past member of Worthington West Franklin Volunteer Fire Department
Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, pets and puzzle books.
She is survived by her son, Thomas G. (Linda K.) Lewis, of Butler; stepson, Doug
(Wanda) Lewis, of Prattville, Ala.; stepdaughters, Sheila (Michael) Cape, of
Alabama, and Beck Lewis, of Alabama; sister, Joann Crawford, of Warren, Ohio;
and several stepgrandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald
A. Lewis, who died in 1980; her second husband, William F. Lewis, who died in
1997; brothers, Bill and Paul Edwards; and a sister, Theresa Hodak.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m.
until the time of blessing service at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with
Father Kenneth Kezmarsky officiating.
Interment in Worthington Lutheran Church Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Butler County Humane Society.
