Andrew Arthur Abronovich

Andrew Arthur Abranovich, 93, formerly of Worthington, Pa., passed away
Wednesday, January 28, 2015, in Chesapeake, Va.
 
He was born September 21, 1921, in West Winfield, Pa. (Butler County), a son of
Anthony and Teresa (Youck) Abranovich.
 
He attended Worthington West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.
 
He was a resident of the Worthington and Kittanning area, spending the past year
living In Chesapeake, with his daughter and son-in-law. 

Andrew was a World War II veteran, having served in the Navy. 

He was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville, Pa. Active
throughout his life in the community, he was a founding member of the Buffalo
Valley Sportsman Club. A member of the VFW, American Legion and YMCA. 

He loved the outdoors and was an avid walker and passionate gardener all of his
life, known for his love of garlic. He loved life and was a wonderful
storyteller with a great sense of humor.
 
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 65 years, Frances Ann (Bono)
Abranovich; daughter, Deborah Marie (Abranovich) Giel (Daniel T.), of
Chesapeake; grandchildren, Rebecca Trent (Paul Lekas), of Bethesda, Md., Bradley
Trent, of Worcester, Mass., Dana Ray (Brian), of Hudson, Ohio; great-grandsons,
Elio and Felix Lekas and Christian Trent; sister, Helen Mainhart, of Butler;
sister-in-law, Delores Marie Bono, of Worthington; as well as many special
friends, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by infant son, Michael;
brothers, Anthony and Joseph; and sister, Mary Mainhart. 

A memorial Mass will be held at St. John Roman Catholic Church at a future
date.
 
Interment will be held at Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pa.   

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kimmel Cancer Center
at Johns Hopkins, Wounded Warrior Project or the American Heart Association.
