Josephine nmn Hodak Bowser Voelkel

Josephine "Jo" (Hodak) Bowser Voelkel, 92, of Kittanning, died Friday, September
14, 2012, at Armstrong County Health Center. 

She was born December 7, 1919, in Chickasaw, Pa., a daughter of the late Evan
Hodak and Margaret (McCall) Hodak and she was a lifelong resident of the area.

She attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa. 

Josephine retired from Moonlight Mushrooms after 30 years. 

She was a member of St. John's the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in
Coylesville, former member of Rebekah. 

She attended the Worthington Senior Center. She enjoyed singing, shopping,
gardening and spending time with her family. 

Josephine is survived by her daughters, Margaret Evans, of Kittanning, and
Patricia Cypher, of Worthington; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren,
four great-great-grandchildren, in addition a stepson and grandchildren, and
several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband,
Millard Bowser; second husband, Finney Voelkel; daughter, Jeanne brothers,
George, Louis, Cliff and Chuck; sister, Mary Grace; grandsons, Daniel and
Michael; great-grandson, Jimmy; and two sons-in-law, David Evans and Butch
Cypher. 

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the F. DUANE
SNYDER FUNERAL HOME in Worthington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at
10 a.m. Tuesday in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville
with Father Donald Bischof as celebrant. 

Interment in Saint Johns Roman Catholic Cemetery, Fenelton, Pa.
