Robert Nesbit Morgan SR
Robert Nesbit Morgan, 87, of Worthington, Pa., died Friday, December 14, 2007,
in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin Township, Kittanning, Pa.
He was born September 3, 1920, in Bovard (Westmoreland County), Pa. to the late
Bert George and Emma Marie (Funk) Morgan.
He was a 1939 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa.
Mr. Morgan was a World War II and Korean War Air Force veteran, retired from
Eljer Pottery, Ford City, Pa. and a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church,
Worthington.
He enjoyed woodworking, remodeling and furniture making.
Father of Barbara Lynn Manuel and husband James and Sally Ann Guz and Crawford
Johnson of Kittanning and Robert Nesbit Morgan Jr. and wife Beth of Tennessee.
Grandfather of Christopher Manuel and wife Laura, Rebecca Bilott and husband
Branden and Bethany and Brett Morgan. Great-grandfather of Isabella Bilott.
Brother of James Davis Morgan of Greenville, Pa., and half brother, Edward B.
Claypool of Denver, Colo.; and two sisters, Mrs. John (Grace) Eichorn of New
Castle, Pa., and a half sister, Annabelle R. Beardsley of Pittsburgh, Pa.
He was predeceased by his wife, Verna Joy (Claypool) Morgan; his father; his
mother, Emma Marie Morgan Claypool; two brothers, William Machain Morgan Sr.,
and George E. Morgan; and four sisters, Mary L. Overdorff, Zelma M. Morgan,
Sarah E. Morgan and Alberta E. Morgan; and his stepfather, Blaine Emory
Claypool.
Visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME,
Worthington. Additional visitation from 10 until service at 11 a.m. Monday,
February 17, 2007 in Evangelical Lutheran Church, Worthington with the Rev. Nola
Eisenbrandt officiating.
Interment in Worthington Lutheran Church Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.
Contributions may be made to the memorial fund of the church.
