Edgar Lloyd Claypoole

Edgar Lloyd Claypoole, 73, of 2101 Sutphins Road, Sanford, N.C., formerly of
West Kittanning, died Saturday, February 26, 1994 at Moore Regional Hospital,
Pinehurst, N.C.

He wa born October 15, 1920 in Worthington to Chambers H. and Edith (Snyder)
Claypoole.

He was a 1939 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa.

Mr. Claypoole was a WW II veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a supervisor at
Pomona Pipe Products in Sanford, N.C. and was a former co-owner of the Jordan &
Claypoole Restaurant.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sanford; and the Masonic Lodge
and the Lions Club of Sanford. he was also the coordinator of the Christian Lay
Ministry to the Senior Citizens of Stewart manor High Rise in Sanford.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, LaJean (Jordan) Claypoole; two
daughters, Mrs. David (Larelle) Whetsell, Mogadore, Ohio, and Mrs. Stacey
(Loreen) Malser Jr. of Salisbury, N.C.; a sister, Mrs. Joseph H. (Juanita L.)
Dickey of Kittanning, Pa.; two brothers, Roy V. Claypoole of Port Charlotte,
Fla. and Chambers H. Claypoole Jr. of Kittanning, Pa.; four granddaughters; four
grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Clarence R., Carl J.
and Randall S. Claypoole; and three sisters, Genevieve C. Kueppers, Marie Hepler
and V. June Williams.

Friends of Edgar Lloyd Claypoole, 73, of 2101 Sutphins Road, Sanford, N.C., who
died Feb. 26, 1994, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at
the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home, 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning, Pa.

Friends will also be received at the Franklin Union Baptist Church on Thursday
from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. with church pastor, the Rev.
William H. Scarle co-officiating with the Rev. Frederick W. Young of the First
Baptist Church of Kittanning, Pa.

Interment in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pa..

The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Memorial Fund of the
Franklin Union Baptist Church, Worthington, Pa. 16262.
