John William Meanor

John William Meanor, 80, of 655 Woodward Ave., Kittanning, Pa. formerly of
Punxsutawney, Pa. died Friday, July 14, 2000 in the Kittanning Care Center,
Kittanning Township.

He was born June 14, 1920 in Worthington to Arthur Ralph and Etta Flinna (Moore)
Meanor.

He attended Worthinton-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Worthington, Pa.

He retired in 1981 from the B&O and C&O Railroad after 42 years of service.

His memberships included the F.O.E. 1231 and the L.O.O.M. 954, both of
Punxsutawney.

Survivors include one son, John Timone Meanor of Dayton, Ohio; four daughters,
Joy Lynn Meanor and Betsy J. Meanor, both of Sharon, Pa. Cheryl Steffey of
Edwardsville, Pa. and Pamela Boyer of Johnson City, Tenn. and Punxsutawney; 13
grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; one
brother, Robert Arthur Meanor of Franklin, Pa.; and John W's companion, Jean
Williams of Kittanning.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Janet Irene Pfaff, Feb. 14,
1938.; one brother, Albert Ralph Meanor.

Friends of John William Meanor, 80, of Kittanning, who died July 14, 2000, will
be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Pifer Funeral Home in
Punxsutawney, Pa.

Additional visitation will be held from 9 a.m. Monday until the time of funeral
services at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with his grandson, Rev. Dr. Donald
Brash, officiating.

Burial will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville, Pa.

The family requests that memorial contributions can be made to the American
Cancer Society or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
