Berneta Lavelle Ruffaner Forester

Berneta Lavelle (Ruffaner) Forester, 85, of 600 Cherry St., Worthington died
Saturday, June 17, 2006 at the home of her nephew and niece, James H. and Faye
Ann Cook.

She was born February 24, 1921, in Worthington to James Clair and Bessel
(Edwards) Ruffaner. She was reared in Worthington.

A 1938 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

Mrs. Forester was a head cashier with A&P Food Store in Kittanning with 38 years
of service. She was a Baptist. She was a member of the Cowansville and
Worthington American Legion auxiliaries.

Survivors include one sister, Virginia Cook, of Worthington; one sister-in-law,
Leona Ruffaner, of Worthington; three nephews, David Ruffaner and wife Chris,
James H. Cook and wife Faye Ann, and Rodney Cook and wife Roseanne, all of
Worthington; one niece, Lynette Sue Arner and husband William, of Freeport.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale T. Forester, whom
she married March 4, 1950; one brother, Greer Ruffaner; and one sister, Wilma
Mae Ruffaner.

Private visitation and funeral services with the Rev. Jonathan Speck officiating
will be held. 

Burial will be in the Worthington United Presbyterian Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.


Memorial contributions may be made to the Worthington American Legion or
Medi-Home Hospice, Lower Burrell.
