Virginia Olive Bowser Livengood

Virginia Olive Bowser Livengood, 93, of South Buffalo Township, passed away
Monday, December 17, 2012, while in the company of family members, at Armstrong
County Memorial Hospital in Kittanning.
 
Virginia was born July 10, 1919, in Worthington. She was the daughter of the
late Maude (Brown) and Emmit E. Bowser.

A 1938 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.
 
She was the widow of Frank E. Livengood, who passed away March 2, 2010.
 
Virginia was a wonderful homemaker and an active member of the Union Baptist
Church in North Buffalo Township. She had taught Sunday school for many years
and sang church choir at her church.
 
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and spending time with her family.
 
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Donald DeVore; of
South Buffalo Twp.; two grandsons and their wives, Van and Dawn Vasbinder, of
Clover, S.C., and Donald and Lisa DeVore, of Ford City. She is also survived by
her five great-grandchildren.
 
Virginia was preceded in death by four sisters; Grace C. Milliron, Lou Retha
Long, Mary O. Taylor and Anna M. Grafton and six brothers; Rufus C. Bowser,
Dennis D. Bowser, King O. Bowser, Luther D. Bowser, Howard C. Bowser and Arnold
Rowland Bowser.
 
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec.
19, 2012, in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 High St., Freeport. Funeral
services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, in Union Baptist
Church in North Buffalo Township with Pastor Jonathan Hill officiating.
 
Burial will be held in the Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pa.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Union Baptist Church,
475 Church Road Ext., Kittanning, PA 16201.
