Ruth Emma Cole Bernard

Ruth Emma Cole Bernard, 96, of Worthington, went home to be with her Lord and
Savior on January 4, 2016 at ACMH Hospital.

She resided at Meadow Lake Manor for the last five years.

She was born February 17, 1919, in Sykesville to Ralph and Eva (Duttry) Cole. 

She attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

She was a member of the Worthington Evangelical Lutheran Church and enjoyed
attending the Worthington Senior Citizen Center and playing bingo.

She was one of the few remaining employees of the Graff Woolen Mill in
Worthington, before it closed in the early 1940s.

She is survived by two sons, William Ralph Bernard of Clarington, and Clayton
Edward Bernard and wife, Georgia, of Freeport, one daughter, Sara Jane (Bernard)
Hoover and husband, David, of New Castle, six grandchildren, nine great
grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and one special granddaughter,
Sherri Cravener. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clayton A. Bernard, whome she
married September 2, 1938, and who died November 23, 1989, as well as five
brothers, Walter, James, Fred, Darrel and Paul Cole, and two sisters, Elvera
Weakland and Mabel Bowser.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at the F.
Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington, where services will be
held at 11 a.m., Thursday, with the Rev. James Higgins officiating.

Interment will be in the Worthington Lutheran Church Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.
