Dorothy Jane Bush Jones Bowser

Dorothy Jane (Bush) Jones Bowser, 94, of Worthington, died Tuesday, April 9,
2013, at Sugar Creek Rest, Worthington, Pa.

She was born November 19, 1918, in West-Franklin Township, a daughter of the
late Byron Joseph Bush and Mabel Katherine (Templeton) Bush.

She attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

She was a lifelong resident of the community and a homemaker. She was a member
of Evangelical Lutheran Church of Worthington and the Donegal Grange, Chicora,
Pa. Dorothy was an avid cook and enjoyed gardening, sewing and reading. Always
old fashioned in her ways, she provided a vivid connection to a world that
existed, as she would say, "long years ago." More than a few children (and
others) were touched by her warm and reassuring presence, humor and just a wee
bit of sternness when deemed necessary.

She made two happy marriages later in life, becoming known as Granny to those in
the Campbell clan. Hers was a long life, given much responsibility at an early
age and always involved with caring for those around her. For many years, she
was a central figure in the Bush family. Petite in stature yet large in impact,
she has gifted us with many precious memories.

Survivors include her sister, Frances I. (Bush) Long and her husband, Robert D.
Long, of Vandergrift, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, William J. Jones, (Craigsville, Pa.)
and Albert Bowser (Cowansville, Pa.); sisters, Margaret Espey Hindman and her
husband, Elmer S., and Florence Alene Forester and her husband, Edwin L.; half
sister, Leone Lewis; and brothers, Milton Bush and B. Joseph Bush.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the F. DUANE SNYDER
FUNERAL HOME in Worthington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday
with her church pastor, the Rev. Lawrence Camberg, officiating.

Interment in Cowansville Cemetery, Cowansville, Pa.

Arrangements by F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, Worthington, Pa.
