Paul A Karns

Paul A. Karns, 79, of 538 Butler Road, Kittanning, Pa., died Tuesday, January
14, 1997 at Armstrong County Health Center, Kittanning, Pa.

He was born March 28, 1917 in McGrann, Pa., to Mary E. (Daugherty) Karns.

(Karns family not found in the 1920 census. Mary was widowed with 4 sons in the
1930 census. Levi Goldinger was with the family in the 1940 census.)

He graduated with the class of 1937 from Worthington-West Franklin High School,
Worthington, Pa.

Mr. Karns was retired since 1974 from Eljer Manufacturing, Ford City, Pa., where
he was employed as a caster, having 29 years of service.

He was a Protestant. Served in the U.S.Army Air Force during World War II as a
sergeant.

He was a member of the Disabled Veterans Administration.

He is survived by his wife, Floda (Burdett) Karns, whom he married on May 20,
1946; one daughter, Mrs. Joseph E. (Karen Lee) Kitchen of Granger, Ind.; one
grandson, Brian Kitchen; one granddaughter, Susan Kitchen; and one brother, Ward
P. Karns of North Olmsted, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Levi Goldinger and his mother, Mary
E. Karns Goldinger; two brothers, Louis L. Karns, who died January 25, 1994, and
Ralph H. Karns.

Friends of Paul A Karns, 79, of 538 Butler Road, Kittanning, Pa., who died
January 14, 1997, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the
Bauer Funeral Home, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning, where funeral services will
be held at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Robert H. Flick, pastor of the First
Nazarene Church, Kittanning, officiating.

Interment will take place in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pa.
