James Carl Leard

James Carl Leard, 87, of Enfield, Ct., beloved husband of 63 years of Barbara
(Bouchard) Leard, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at
Hartford Hospital, Hartford, Ct., surrounded by his loving family. 

Born September 14, 1919 in Worthington, Pa, the son of Carl J. and Carrie V.
(Haverstroh) Leard. 

He was a 1937 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa.  

He was a resident of Enfield since 1951 and a longtime communicant of Holy
Family Church.

Jim was an Army veteran of World War II and was employed by Pratt & Whitney as a
foreman for 30 years retiring in 1981. 

He enjoyed woodworking, specializing in duck decoys and baskets. Jim was a self
taught organist and he instilled this gift of music to his youngest
granddaughter. 

Besides his wife Barbara, he is survived by his son, David Carl Leard and his
wife, Marilyn of Bantam, Ct.; a daughter, Lisa Frances Leard and her husband,
Eric B. Max of Southington, Ct.; three grandchildren, Michael, Melanie and Amy
Leard; a step-granddaughter, Julia Max and a niece, Ann LaRene Cadman of
Pittsburgh, Pa. 

He was predeceased by a sister, LaRene Frances Beighlea. 

Family and friends will gather Thursday, January 4, 2007, by 10 a.m. at the
Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield for a funeral procession
to Holy Family (Catholic) Church, 23 Simon Road, Enfield, for a Mass of
Christian Burial at 11 a.m.

Interment services will be held at the convenience of the family.
