Henry Weaver Claypoole

Henry Weaver Claypoole, 80, of Worthington died Thursday, September 23, 1999, at
the Lutheran Concordia Lutheran Home in Cabot.

Born August 14, 1919, in West Franklin Township, Armstrong County, he was the
son of Jerry and Marybelle (Weaver) Claypoole.

He graduated from Worthington High School and received a bachelor of science
degree from Pennsylvania State University. He was a member of Alpha Tau Alpha,
an honorary fraternity.

He was a World War II veteran who served in a combat infantry during the
occupation of Japan.

Mr. Claypoole owned and operated Green Acres Farm for 40 years. He also was a
marketing specialist for the Department of Agriculture.

He taught vocational agriculture classes in the Ligonier School District.

Mr. Claypoole was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Worthington,
where he served as vice president of council for several years and also as
secretary of the Worthington Lutheran Cemetery for 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Cox) Claypoole, whom he married Aug 7, 1943; a
son, Roger Claypoole of Worthington; a daughter, Mrs. Roy (Barbara) Yockey of
Worthington; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Randall, Harold and Gordon.

Services for Henry W. Claypoole, who died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, will be held
at 3 p.m. today at the Lawn Haven Mausoleum, Worthington, with the Rev William
Scarle officiating. There will be no public visitation. 

Entombment will be in the Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pa.

Association, New York.
