John Franklin Swigart

John Franklin Swigart, 78, of Worthington, Pa. died Wednesday, October 13, 1993,
at his home.

Born in Worthington on June 8, 1925, he was the son of John Gilpin and Olga
Blanche (Bowser) Swigart.

He attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

He had been employed by Michigan Limestone for 20 years and had also worked for
T.W. Phillips Gas and Oil Co. for 26 years.

Mr. Swigart was a Lutheran and was a veteran of World War II.

He was a 40-year member of the Butler County Horseshoe League and was inducted
into the Horseshoe Hall of Fame in 1991.

Surviving are his wife, Marie Jean (Marks) Swigart, whom he married Nov. 19,
1943; a son, Timothy John Swigart of Worthington; two daughters, Mrs. Dennis A.
(Linda L.) Lamison of Kittanning R.D. 2 and Mrs. James (Shirley W.) Bono of
Worthington; a brother, Kenneth Swigart of Nevada; a sister, Mrs. Grace Ross of
Florida; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers; Fred L. and Homer L. and three
sisters; Olive Schular, Della and Evelyn Blaney.

Friends of J. Frank Swigart of Worthington, who died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1993,
will be received at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, Worthington, from 2 to 4
and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday
at the funeral home with the Rev. George Hall officiating. 

Burial will be in the Worthington Lutheran Church Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.
