Velma Esther Shearer Claypoole
Velma Esther Shearer Claypoole, 79, of RD 4, Kittanning, Pa. died Friday, August
9, 1996 as a result of an automobile accident in Worthington, Pa.
She was born July 3, 1917 in Parks Township to Daniel and Sarah Eva (Heckman)
Shearer.
She graduated with the Class of 1936 from Worthington-West Franklin High School,
Worthington, Pa.
Mrs. Claypoole owned and operated Claypoole's Remnant Shop (Claypoole Road,
south of Worthington).
She was a member of the Worthington Baptist Church, Worthington, Pa.
She is survived by one son, Daniel Boyd Claypoole of RD 4, Kittanning; three
daughters Leona Ruth Claypoole at home, Sherry Elaine Fautenberry of Brazil and
Stella Mary Stewart of Brownsville; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alton Boyd Claypoole, who
died in 1993; one brother, Otha Blair Shearer; one sister Leona Catherine
Claypoole; and one granddaughter.
Friends of Velma Esther (Shearer) Claypoole, 79, of RD 4, Kittanning, Pa. who
died August 9, 1996 will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, August 12 and 2 to
4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, Inc.,
A Forethought Member, 119 Bear St., Worthington, Pa.
