Tillie Esther Claypoole Powell

Tillie Esther Claypoole Powell, 92, of Powell Road died at 5:25 a.m. Saturday,
March 17, 2007, at her home.

Born February 16, 1915, in Worthington, she was the daughter of Alex and Laura
(Bowser) Claypoole.

She attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.

Mrs. Powell was a homemaker and a member of the Middlesex Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by a son, Donald L. Powell of Butler; a daughter, Glenna Carson
of Dillard, Ga.; two grandsons; a great-grandson; and a great-granddaughter; and
numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are Bud Shankle of Worthington and
Harry and Ann Watt of Brookville, who were considered brothers and sisters.

Her husband, Laurell J. Powell, whom she married April 10, 1935, died Feb. 6,
2004. She also was preceded in death by three sisters Hilda Arner, Ruby
Heginbotham and Pearl Boyd and five brothers, Carl, Ray, Paul, Oren, and Ward.

There will be no public visitation. Services for Tillie Claypoole Powell, who
died Saturday, March 17, 2007, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Middlesex
Presbyterian Church in America, with the Rev. Kevin Bowen officiating. 

Burial will follow at the Middlesex Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Buter, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Middlesex Presbyterian Church,
116 Church Road, Butler, PA 16002.
