Vera Helen Bowser Crawford

Vera Helen "Sis" Bowser Crawford, 82, of Worthington died Thursday, November 30,
2000, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. 

Born June 21, 1918, in Worthington, she was the daughter of Matthew and Pearl
(Bowser) Bowser.

She attended Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa. 

Mrs. Crawford was the former tax collector for Worthington Borough. 

She was a lifelong member of the Worthington Presbyterian Church, where she was
a former deaconess. 

She also was a member of the auxiliary of the Worthington-West Franklin Fire
Department. 

She is survived by a son, Larry Crawford, and a daughter, Mrs. Shields (Donna)
Macurdy, both of Worthington; three sisters, Velma Simmers and Grace Kline, both
of Worthington, and Doris Smith of Butler. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Crawford, who died in 1991; an
infant son; a sister, Lula McQueeny; and an infant brother, Herert and sister,
Edna. 

Friends of Vera H. "Sis" Crawford, who died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, will be
received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Saturday at F. DUANE SNYDER
FUNERAL HOME, Worthington. Visitation also will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30
p.m. Sunday at the Worthington Presbyterian Church. Services will be held at
1:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, with the Rev. Jonathan Speck, church pastor,
officiating. 

Burial will be in Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.
