William Machian Morgan SR

William Machian Morgan, Sr., 82, of Pine Street, Kittannng, Pa., died Friday,
August 6, 1999 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin Township,
Kittanning, Pa.

He was born September 21, 1916 in Bovard (Westmoreland County), Pa.  to Bert
George and Emma Marie (Funk) Morgan.

He graduated with the class of 1935 from Worthington-West Franklin High School,
Worthington, Pa.

Mr. Morgan was retired since 1981 from Pullman Standard, Butler, Pa., having 12
years of service. Prior to that, he was employed at Michigan Limestone (Yellow
Dog/Buffalo Valley) and Linde Air, Kittanning, for 18 years each.

He was a member of Worthington Presbyterian Church.

His hobbies were baseball, golf and gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Caroline L. (Houser) Morgan, whom he married on
January 21, 1939; one son, Rev. William Machain Morgan Jr. of Milledgeville,
Ga.; one daughter, Mrs. Delmar (Betty Ruth) Jack of Kittanning; five
grandchildren, Janine Lynn Muir, Harvey Jack, Joan Rodriquez, David Morgan and
Elizabeth Rourk; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Nesbit Morgan
Sr, of Worthington, James Davis Morgan of Greenville, Pa. and half brother,
Edward B. Claypool of Denver, Colo.; and three sisters, Mary L. Overdorf of
Bovard, Mrs. John (Grace) Eichorn of New Castle, Pa., and a half sister,
Annabelle R. Beardsley of Pittsburgh, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his father; his mother, Emma Marie Morgan Claypool;
one daughter, Patricia Elaine Morgan; one brother, George E. Morgan; and three
sisters, Zelma M. Morgan, Sarah E. Morgan and Alberta E. Morgan; stepfather,
Blaine Emory Claypool.

Friends of William Machian Morgan, Sr., 82, of Pine Street, Kittannng, who died
Friday, August 6, 1999, will be received from noon to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday
at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington, where funeral
services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with his pastor, the Rev. Jonathan
Speck, officiating.

Interment will take place in the Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery, Worthington,
Pa.
