James Edgar Clark

James Edgar Clark, 91, of Big Bear Lake, Calif., formerly of North Hollywood,
Calif., peacefully passed away August 23, 2008.

Born in Worthington, January 28, 1917, the son of Floyd Edgar and Florence
Marguerite (Hesselgesser) Clark.

He was a 1935 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington,
Pa., and entered Penn State in the fall of 1935. Later transferring to
California Teachers College, California, Pa.

He will be missed for his keen intelligence, wit, and stories. He had stories
about so many things, being raised on a farm in a small Pennsylvania town,
working his way through college, being in the Navy in WWII, moving to California
in the late 40s, teaching industrial arts and math in the San Fernando Valley,
how things are made, how fruit and vegetables used to taste, and of course his
family, so many family stories.

He was a very quiet, dignified man who didn't express his emotions in obvious
ways. Instead, he showed his love by providing for his family, building his own
homes, building fine pieces of cabinetry and furniture, helping his sons with
their building projects, and being as loyal a person as you'd ever want to know.

He supported his community by being involved with the Water Board in Big Bear
Lake, being a Mason, and teaching 35 years in the Los Angeles School District.
His family, friends, and past students will remember him fondly.

He is survived by his sons, David J. and Phillip E. (Debbie) Clark; and two
granddaughters, Lauren (Jason Yanofsky) Clark and Allison (Brock) Robinson. and
sister, Anna Mary Reed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Ruth
(Marks) Clark on Dec. 25, 2002.

A private, family memorial will be held August 28th.

Interment in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Ca.

Arrangements by Pierce Brothers Valhalla, North Hollywood, Ca.
