Esther Elizabeth Young Garing Ray

Esther Elizabeth Young Garing Ray, 90, of Butler died at 8:25 a.m. Monday,
August 6, 2007, at the Sunnyview Home.

Born January 12, 1917, in Fenelton, she was the daughter of John Daniel and
Olive (Hindman) Young.

She was a member of the second graduating class of Worthington High School in
1934.

She was a member of Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church. She was a life member of
Women of the Moose and a member of the Tanglewood Senior Center. She enjoyed
bowling and bingo.

Mrs. Ray retired as an inspector at Castle Rubber after 30 years and volunteered
at the Butler Memorial Hospital for several years. She had worked in the shell
shop at Pullman Standard during World War II. She also had worked at the Spaide
Shirt Factory.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Delores) McLaughlin of Beecher, Ill.,
and Shirley Fudoli of Butler; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by three sisters, Helen Goepfert of California, Mrs. Floyd
(Frances) McAfoose of Aliquippa and Mrs. Harry (Virginia) Franko of Butler.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Garing, who died June 17,
1974; her second husband, Roy Ray, who died Aug. 20, 1976; and a grandson,
Joseph McLaughlin.

Friends of Esther E. Garing Ray, who died Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, will be received
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W.
Jefferson St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with her
church pastor, the Rev. Timothy Bupp, officiating. 

Burial will be at the Greenlawn Burial Estates, Butler, Pa.
