Edward Stanley Slease

Edward Stanley Slease, 81, of 1161 Wilson Ave., Kittanning, Pa., died Thursday,
December 4, 1997 at his residence.

He was born July 16, 1916 in Kittanning to Stanley C. and S. Orvetta (Schultze)
Slease.

He graduated with honors in 1934 from Worthington-West Franklin High School,
Worthington, Pa.

Mr. Slease was employed at the former Pfaff Trucking, Worthington, where he had
20 years of service.

He was a member of the Wilson Avenue Church of God, Kittanning, where he was a
lifetime elder. He also taught the Men's Bible class.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served during World War II. He was a
disabled American veteran.

He was a member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics, Dayton.

His hobbies were reading, collecting trains and especially a history buff of the
Civil War period.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Vivien A. (Schrecengost) Slease, whom he
married on July 29, 1949; two sons, Barry Slease of West Sunbury, Pa. and N.
Dean Slease of Rimersburg, Pa.; four grandchildren, Traci, Lori and Jacob Slease
and Joshua McKay; one great-granddaughter; and one sister, Mary O. Crossan of
Leechburg, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends of Edward Stanley Slease, 81, of 1161 Wilson Ave., Kittanning, Pa., who
died Thursday, December 4, 1997, will be received from 2 to  4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Friday at the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home, Inc., 253 N. Grant Ave.,
Kittanning. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. Saturday at the
Wilson Avenue Church of God, Kittanning, until the time of funeral services at
11 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. Richard Molgaard, officiating.

Interment will take place in the Kittanning Cemetery, Kittanning, Pa.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Kittanning Public
Library, 280 N. Jefferson St., Kittanning, Pa. 16201.
